Helping Youth Discover Their Strength

Since our founding in 2014, our brand has focused on inspiring people to overcome. It is part of our mission statement. It is a large part of our internal motivation for every decision we make as a company. It has been driven by all of you who have taken the time to contact us through a variety of mediums to share your personal stories of setbacks and victories, tragedies and triumphs.

At the end of 2017, we decided to begin supporting a variety of charitable organizations through the proceeds of our sales. We named this our Cause Campaign. Since that time we have donated a total of $30,730 to 14 charities. Towards the end of 2018, we began internal talks on our Cause Campaign and the direction we could take to improve who we reached and who we helped even more. It was through this series of conversations that the idea of our own foundation was born. By starting a foundation ourselves, we could leverage our people, time, resources, and facilities to ensure that 100% of money raised by the foundation would go to actual causes. There would be no director fees, overhead, administrative fees, or rents; and every financial detail would be transparent to our supporters.

We began to narrow down the direction a foundation could take and who specifically it could help that best represented you, our Apeman community. In reading through your stories and digesting where the biggest impact would occur, it became very clear that we would focus our foundation on issues affecting young people. It seemed that much of the pain, rage, and self doubts carried through life stemmed from events in childhood. We felt that early intervention could make a large and lasting impact on one’s self confidence, and ultimately the success and happiness of one’s life.

In December of 2018 we formed the Finding Strong Foundation, Inc, a Pending 501(c)3. Its focus will be concentrated on three specific areas.

  1. Abuse. We have received countless messages from those who have suffered a variety of childhood abuses. Physical. Mental. And sexual. These events have lifelong implications to a persons self worth and confidence. Many children do not receive the early help they need because of financial reasons or a lack of parent resources and understanding. Our focus will be on bridging the finance gap allowing those who have suffered abuse access to recovery methods.

  2. Illness. We have been involved with charities that focus on both research of disease and financial aid to families with children suffering from illness. Some are not curable, but all are treatable, and support from outside resources can be provided to ease financial burdens as well as emotional distress. Our focus in this arena will be on aiding to families battling both physical and mental illnesses through medical fee support, donations to hospitals to research potential cures to a multitude of diseases and viruses, and emotional support visits and encouragement from the professional athletes Apeman sponsors.

  3. At Risk. There is a huge portion of the population under 18 years of age who are considered “at risk” for a variety of factors. Being at risk equates to an increased occurrence of drug and alcohol abuse, crime, truancy and low academic performance, and emotional and behavioral problems. Our focus in this segment is on youth sports and confidence building activities. We will provide equipment, financial support, and other resources to programs and facilities in economically underprivileged areas to increase youth participation in positive activities.

Throughout 2019, Apeman will donate proceeds from various products and designs to the Finding Strong Foundation to support these endeavors. When our pending application as a 501(c)3 is approved by the IRS, we will also begin other fund raising activities to support our foundation.
